yes the dvd-rom is burning and working it the whole day getting a bunch of stuff for mum who's so exoited. yes im sorry

the whole family is using it -__-'' its such a trend its hilarious not only that all my frens are saying that things are smelly~! wakakaak i guess we are such trend setters

anyway~! apart from that...i fly tomoro at 7.20am so that means going to the airport at 6am O_O insane...but so yea...finaly going back the least i could do is feel more excited...

but i wish time would stop and holidays will still keep going and the whole family will stay here as usual...but hey life is tough thats what makes it interesting

apart from that i made tomoros lunch already still doing some last minute packing and all and listing down the stuff i need to/ want to get when im back home so that i will remember. and the thing is

yes takeru is burning a freaking hole in not only my wallet but the people surrounding me O_O

its been insane~!

1. diana's graduation

2. auckland bed/furniture/settling in/getting lost SOO losted in auckland city trying to find a freaking cheap park

3. munching on lots of goodies

4. cooking for a family of normally 2 now 5 is very interesting coz there's so much more to cook with more interesting dishes to try

5. trying to catch up with everything online and offline and now burning stuff for mum to bring back home

6. and finally...its only one more night till we all fly home to kuching~!

sigh sigh how time flies i remember back when i was telling mum how exciting this trip will be coz they'll be here for like 3 weeks~! and now its all gone.

the new year is coming and i still have lots to do and stuff.

ugh smelly computer not enough space :P so anyway~! so yea so yea...

finally ahah the other day we had diana's birthday~! so i baked a strawberry green tea shortcake~! >_<>not only that, there was this starwberry that looked like a bixon so she sed put it in as wel so it has horns and a nose ring~!
the back looked boring so i was feeling lovely with the decoration
we also went to the chinese garden the other day...actually just yesterday ahaha it was not too bad la but it would have been better if it was maintained better :P well thats what i think. i mean the design and stuff is nice but then suddenly you see all the spider webs and you're like -__-'' potong my steam only...ahaha
alina who so wanted to go and see the butterfly garden so yea there were turtles there~! >_< face="trebuchet ms">so yea so yea...that was pretty exxoiting~! ahaha urgh how anoying...the font keeps changing..hmm anyway~! today we are going for dimsum and then diana needs to sort some graduation thingy.

oh~! yesterday we had carbonara for dinner and with the really ex cheese parmesan. its so good la...now i know why the italians eat it like all the time. it was really nice...if i can i'll never buy mainland cheese again~! O_O~ ahah

i think the first thing they will do is go to countdown to buy their smely whittakers 2 for $5 to bring home as souveniors for such and such and so and so.

marinated my char siew so will make char siew pau prob sunday or sth...yea then monday need to bake dianas birthday cake. so lots of cooking to do. plus mum and dad and alina = 5 people instead of the usual 2 O_O~! need more brain storming for meals now.

oh~! going up to auckland again on the 9/12 after dianas graduation and all. going to flat hunt or sth for her and then prob sight see-ing and all since parents are up there. taking the amazing train again tee hee okies~!

auckland

auckland auckland...we stayed at some crummy backpackers on the 10th floor overlooking queen st.
we walked around and got kinda losted but then found this amazing japanese restaurant and decided to have dinner. they even have a bell to ring for service! cute
entree was edamame and cold tofu coz auckland was so hot
this was the main! had sashimi. was amazing...everything was really fresh right down to the lil prawn there
had this too~! it was their signature makisushi. was humongous! it had cucumber, egg, eel, prawn and salmon and flying fish roe. was really yummy! =D
we were so full but decided to have dessert -__-'' so yea had ohagi and sakura mochi! both done really nicely. sakura mochi was really floral...well it is cherry blossom leaves...
then at the end when we went to pay we saw these and commented on how adorable they were and the hot waiter decided to give it to us. wakakaka

well that was the most detailed meal i had the others i was all excited and only remembered to take photo after i finished eating -_-'''
went to sylvia park the next day. was really interesting coz its split in two and the middle is like outdoor park where the x'mas tree is and the rest of the area is closed up
was at newmarket and look what i saw....
nyahahaha~! this is the cutest thing ever! i saw it when i was in the bus so the quality of the shot's not that great! see the santa there? every time someone walks pass him...he will shake bum! wkakkak it was so retardedly cute had to take photo. i went back the next day but then right...i walked pass him but he didn't shake bum for me =( i guess they switched it off
back in the city, decided to go for cake at a cake gateux shop. diana had the green tea cream cake sth like that and i had the chestnut moose one. not too bad but the sponge was dry :P ah well~!
met up with a friend and she brought me to see beaches and million dollar houses. so yea see the city of sails. thats the last photo of the trip! :P

so yea i bought i tonne of stuff -__-''i feel so guilty now...got some dresses and mostly cooking and baking stuff. i found the most amazing $3japan shop. aha everything was like $3.40 (+gst) so yea...was pretty cool. got some soup bowls and stuff. definitely going back there in the future. so yea...went up for dianas job interviews and she accepted a place at onehunga. so yea...auckland it is

today i went for violin! =D was really fun coz i got a new piece to play its called hungarian dance im sure its popular coz they always play it as OST stuff in movies

and then and then today i made bak pau! >w< but then i lazy to take photo it was not too bad but i feel i didn't put enough seasoning so its a bit bland =( remedy with tau yuu la

also tonight got jamie oliver! ministry of food on tv! so will watch that...hmm..i need to get ready to write christmas cards to all my fwens ahah but im lazy...still not yet buy the cards yet...i saw some cute ones though...and it was pretty cheap too! might go and buy when i go down to town again :P

yes im still watching my kamen rider Den-0 its too good its supposed to be lame but it always feels so cool *sigh* especially when the cast is so good looking \(>///<')/

hm i wana bleach my hair...or dye or sth...sth on the lines of what the hell were you thinking!??! hmm will find a way around it.

fishing day

yesterday i went fishing! at port chalmers but it was soo cold! and windy...but the view was really pretty tho...
on the way to the fishing spot, we saw 3 seals! this is the cute one...nyahah the others were old -___-'' and gawking at us
this was on the way home already just walking back but the view realy looked like those post card ones! :P
we decided to head back early la...coz it was cold and in the end right...i didn even go fishing...nor did i touch the fishing rod...i just went so taht i could have my picnic -___-'' but it as yummy! =Di made inari sushi, fish+spring onion onigiri, gyoza and tamagoyaki the fried sweet egg that they sell on top of sushi

i packed this one special for nette who's still having exams =( poor tihng..so yea have to eat well eventho you have exams!

now, is the recipe request for gyoooza~
when making gyoza, you will need a ratio of vege and mince. thats what makes it juicy at the same time you don want the mixture to be too wet coz it will cause problems when you are wrapping them later on. just keep that in mind.
so! ingredients:
mince:vege=2:1 or 1:2(healthy version) (200g:100g etc)
i like to mix pork and beef mince coz it taste nicer :p but feel free to use just one type.
the best vege to use will be chinese cabbage! if don have use normal cabbage or chives or even silverbeet...but its winter there you are bound to find cabbage cheaply i assume.
this is the MOST basic and EASIEST!

1) get ready your meat by seasoning it with salt, pepper, oyster sauce/soy sauce and most importantly sesame oil then what ever you want la...as long as its reasonable -__-'' then you gota knead and squish it to mix it well until it feels pastey!

2) soften your chinese cabbage(3-4 leaves) by microwaving it covered for...bout 3 mins or until its limp then sqeeze softly just to get some of the water out. don sqeeze too hard or it wont be juicy. then mince it up put in bowl and season with some salt and sesame oil. this makes the mixture 'less wet'
*you can add other things as well like mushrooms, spring onion, etc feel free to play around with it* ;) thats the fun in cooking

3) then mix the meat and cabbage together! knead it until it is well incorporated. if you are making a huge batch, (400g:200g), add an egg white in to loosen the mixture(this is so that when you finish cooking you are not left with one lump of meat in the middle) then chill the mixture for at least 30 min before use.( a wet mixture will cause pools of water to form in the mixture that will be a bitch when it comes to wrapping so use the oil!)

there... then all you need to do know is wrap it in the gyoza wrappers. you can buy them at the asian store get the round ones. i make my own but see-ing that you got no personal kitchen it might be hard to be hogging it all the time -__-''

4) wrapping! place filling in (as much as you want lar as long as it can form a semi-circle. i always make humongous one coz i can get away with it) then close it to a semi-circle and pleat about 7 folds.(just crinkle and press starting from one side to the other)
its good to make like big batches then you can freeze them uncooked in between cling wrap so they wont stick together. it is a nice and hearty quick meal itself or with rice or nudle and some fried vege.

to cook!
1) boil water in the kettle
2) heat your pan on the hob when hot, add oil then reduce to medium heat
3) arrange your gyoza inside pleated side up
4) then pour your boiled water in until it covers just half the gyoza and cover
*this makes a steaming environment so its steaming and frying at the same time!
5) when all the water is evaporated, lift the lid and increase the heat to inbetween high-med(its 4 for mine coz i have an element stove)
6) check the bottoms and leave them until they are golden brown! then you can take it off and eat! soft on top crunchy on the bottom! yum yum yum!

haha you can make a dipping sauce with 1:2 vinegar:soy sauce and if you are very hardworking can put in thinly sliced ginger too!

so yea! hope this helps! happy trying tell me how you go with it it cant get simpler than this!

i need to clean the house but words cannot describe how lazy i have become i think coz i have been soo freaking busy for the 2nd semester i didn't even have the time to be this lazy...shuucks oh well but i HAVE been busy in the kitchen ;)
if you're wondering what ever happened to the pineapple tarts...here it is!! XD cant stop munching them O_O! im a sucker for pastry :P i wanted to make like sunflower shape but then..i got lazy so make baseball la..ahah

and then right! we had ka-re(japanese curry) for dinner the other day so i cook extra and made ka-re pan! (curry bread)

jya jyaaaaaaaan~! i made 2 versions! one is baked and one is the original deep fried one...and now...for the Diimenshoooow~!

deep fried version! i like both! >_< coz the baked one can put cheese and the deep fried one is soo crunchy! you can hear me eating it from the next room! O_O! ahah
hmm...what else have i been doing? catching up with the 2nd season of gundam00 and making my guunnndayam! don care what you all say i like means i like if im childish wadever :P you just don understand the complexity of it :P wakaka i don even know what im saying anymore

hmm i guess thats about it..i was watching drama today too its so emo so touching but yea...waiting for the last 2 episod to finish downloading to see the finale =P hmm...oh! i bought eggs the other day! so i will make ice cream! XDD yum yum yum! so now my freezer is like super full coz i need to freeze th ice cream maker -__-'' and the fridge is full too coz of all the ingredients for sundays picnic -___-'' so yea...well! i guess thats all! =D

today i made bread! not brown bread but white bread! wakakak but the interesting thing is...it has rice in it! O_O! as weird as it sounds...well we learnt that...ok here's the technical part if you couldn't care less about my freaking loaf of bread then buzz of...

we learnt that rice as the highest percentage of gliadin this is needed to make the dough sticky incorporation iwth glutenin that makes it elastic. by adding the rice, the dough becomes super sticky but the end results is a really nice fluffy soft bread this is because rice is high in starch/sugar which is water loving and will attract/suck in moisture thus making the bread soft!

now you know...so yea the bread was super yummy cos it was so soft and fluffy >__< hmm...today was pretty productive! i made gyoza(dumplings) too! the last time i made it the dough something wrong but it feels right this time =D looking forward to it! ^__^

and then and then i did pineapple jam for pineapple tart! =D and i did it with the microwave! coz the last time i fried it it took sooo long and i had to take care of it...its cheaper to do it by micrwave coz its faster save electricity since my stove is not gas one :P so yea!

tomorow we are going swimming! XDD its part of the henshin(transform) plan! wakaka i will work hard! >____< kamen rider is so..elementary i have no idea how i manage to gravitate to it every year....ahaha okies! im off to bed!

hmm...it is said that its proven you will not get diabetes if you eat sugar...but oh well...it was soooo satisfying...tee hee

yes i went out to play yesterday =D went to the baking shop to pick up some bits coz they were having sale! i got my turn table! XD eks! now i can be pro...PRRRRROOOO when i decorate my cakes nyahahah so yea...

the taste is pretty good but the textures a bit too soft for me :P i like mine kinda bready oh well the texture might change when it cools i suppose but its all good! =D
